The GCC Secretariat and Italy have advanced a fresh phase of cooperation this week, holding high-level talks in Riyadh on October 26, 2025, to strengthen ties under the GCC–EU joint work programme (2022-28). The discussions, attended by the GCC Secretary-General and the Italian Prime Minister’s diplomatic advisor, explored strategic partnerships across technology, trade, investment, energy transition, and cultural exchange.
This move builds on robust economic ties: UAE–Italy bilateral trade reached over $13.8 billion in 2024 with recent investments spanning renewable energy, AI, digital infrastructure, and healthcare. Italy, now Europe’s fourth largest supplier of renewable technologies to the UAE, is fast becoming a key player in Gulf innovation and sustainability transformations.
For professionals in the UAE and GCC, these developments mean greater access to collaborative ventures, new technology transfer opportunities, and diversified trade corridors. The ongoing partnership, guided by the GCC–EU joint work framework, reflects a shared commitment to economic growth and regional stability through multi-continental alignment.
