Senior UAE diplomatic adviser Dr. Anwar Gargash has emphasized that unity among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states is no longer simply a political objective but a strategic necessity in the face of mounting regional and global challenges. Speaking at a policy forum, Gargash highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in security, economic development, and diplomacy to safeguard the Gulf’s long-term stability and prosperity.
According to Gargash, the region is navigating an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape marked by security threats, economic uncertainty, and evolving global power dynamics. He stressed that collective action among Gulf nations provides the most effective response to these challenges, allowing member states to coordinate policies, protect shared interests, and enhance regional resilience.
The UAE official noted that the GCC has made significant progress in recent years by restoring diplomatic ties among member states and expanding collaboration in areas such as trade, energy, infrastructure, digital transformation, and defense.
