The United Arab Emirates has demonstrated its strong commitment to humanitarian solidarity by allocating US$10 million in urgent assistance for communities affected by devastating floods and landslides in Nepal. The aid comes under the directives of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The initiative reflects the UAE’s longstanding approach of extending support to communities facing natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies. The funding is intended to help deliver urgently needed relief to people impacted by the disaster while supporting coordinated humanitarian efforts on the ground.
According to the UAE Aid Agency, teams are working closely with local authorities and international organisations to ensure assistance reaches affected communities, including women, men and children. This coordinated approach is designed to make relief operations more effective and ensure that support reaches those who need it most.
The UAE’s response also highlights the country’s emphasis on human solidarity, international cooperation and rapid humanitarian action during times of crisis. UAE officials have stressed the importance of collective efforts in helping communities recover from natural disasters.
The announcement follows the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressing solidarity with Nepal and offering condolences following the loss of lives caused by the floods and landslides.
