Israel carried out a series of air strikes on southern Lebanon on Wednesday, killing at least one person and injuring 19 others, including journalists, according to Lebanese officials. The dead was identified by Israel and Hezbollah as Abu Ali Salameh, a Hezbollah member targeted in Qennarit after an Israeli eviction order. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said two of the wounded were admitted to intensive care, while several journalists suffered minor injuries from debris. Israel said it struck Hezbollah “terror targets” and later issued eviction orders for three villages before launching further attacks. The Lebanese army warned the strikes hinder efforts to disarm Hezbollah and called them a breach of the 2024 ceasefire.
